In life, sometimes you have to look at it like you are putting on a pair of skates. The very first time, the fear of falling makes you not want to try and that first fall makes you want to quit. The goal is to keep moving. You have got to keep moving, or you’ll fall down. You eventually start to feel like it is a breeze deciding how fast or slow you go and even controlling when to stop. In this process you soon learn something very important and that is there will always be a time that you will fall. That fall can be something you caused or caused by something or someone else. If you fall down, you can always make the decision to get up and try again. Life can be hard, just like learning to skate, but it’s up to you to give up or skate through it while telling yourself “I may lose my balance, but I will never lose my determination.” This is what we want to teach our youth. Life is hard but it is possible.
